Storm - Dec. 15th 2006

The storm that caused this damage started the evening of Thursday, Dec. 14th.  Our power went out at 12:45 am on Friday, Dec. 15th and was out until 6:45 pm Thursday, Dec. 21st (almost 7 days).  Wind speeds during the storm ranged from 40 to 100 mph.  We had 4 trees come down in our backyard, all of them missing our house or any other structure.  Two of the trees scraped the west side of another tree, de-limbing it.  We heard all the cracking and the thuds.  Needless to say, it was a very restless night!  We feel very blessed that our house was not hit; it truly was an answer to prayers!

(Some pictures are blurry, but you can still get the idea of the damage.)

Our neighbor had a tree break in half.  The part that broke off landed on the power line in the middle of our cul-de-sac.  (We eventually took the top, which made a perfect Christmas tree, and put it up in the middle of the cul-de-sac and decorated it.)
